Well, we paint eggs and go to the church, but that's about it ^^
ReplyDeleteThe only real tradition we have is coloring eggs on Good Friday.
ReplyDeleteWhen we were younger, my sisters & I used to paint eggs & make hats out of cardboard & decorate them. Now we compete & see who can eat the most chocolate eggs & bunnies. Lol!
ReplyDeleteYes, we do. I am Greek Orthodox, and every Easter we make a Greek Easter cookie called Koulourakia!
ReplyDeleteWe usually hide treats around the house for the pups and make them both easter baskets. Then we usually make some ham and sweet potato casserole and eat as a family (my hubby and I).

ReplyDeletewhen the kids were small we always had an easter eggs hunt and we painted eggs etc and we still all get together for a nice dinner

ReplyDeleteWe eat a big meal with family or friends (lunch, usually) and the night before we attend the Easter Vigil at church -- ending with a huge din (tintinnabulation) and the After Lent party, which is dancing, live music, food, wine...it's wonderful. :)

ReplyDeletehaha, when i was little we painted eggs (wow almost said legs lol)( this was in croatia) and when i was older my mom would hide out chocolate easter eggs ( this was when we lived in iceland) and now there isn't anything we do, or if giving me candy counts then that haha :)
ReplyDeleteIn my family the breakfast table is always decorated in an Easter theme with plenty of chocolate eggs and hardboiled eggs. If there are children around then some eggs will be hidden in the living room for them to find.

ReplyDeleteWe usually do the same things each year. But now we have alot more grandchildren, so when we do egg hunts we have to divide the eggs up by color and each child gets their own color to hunt. They can't take other kids' colors. Makes it equal for all kids. But we do a traditional easter dinner of course!

ReplyDeleteWe always read the Easter Story, but this year we correlated items that symbolized each different part of the story, verses from the Bible, and put this inside their Easter Eggs. So we all read the story, from the bible, as we went from clue to clue. We of course, let them have choc. eggs as well - we're not completely cruel.
No I don't really do anything special for Easter but I did spend time with family I rarely get to see so that was nice. Thank you for the giveaway. :)

ReplyDeleteIn my country there are those stupid traditions like pouring water on females or spraying them with perfume, and whipping them "gently" with special whips made of braided willow rods and then females are supposed to give males money or chocolate or alcohol. I hate Easter because of those stupid traditions. I prefer my door locked.

When my kids where younger I would set up a basket for each of them with lots of candy and a big chocolate bunny and a few toys in there. Then we would have an Easter egg hunt. With the eggs that we had died the night before. My kids loved dying the eggs. I so miss that! I would also get plastic eggs and fill them with money and candy. I so miss those days!! Not in the religious sense, but, when my brother and I were kids, our mom used to hide candy.
ReplyDeleteNow that our daughter is old enough to be aware of holidays, we plan to at least go thru the motions and create some traditions and memories so she doesn't miss out. This year, she rec'd her first Easter basket from her friend's family and she was thrilled.
