The Hidden Demon

The Hidden Demon (The Immortals, #4)The Hidden Demon by Monica La Porta

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I received a free ecopy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I have loved everything I have received from this author and this book is no exception.

Book #4 of the Immortals series, we are introduced to Peter who is a demon that has the job of reading the last moments of the dead. Ophelia, who we met in book #3 is still pining for Samual and doesn't know if she will ever find her true mate. The characters of Peter and Ophelia are so similar you wonder if they will ever fit together but at the same time how can they stay apart.

Peter and Ophelia come together to solve the mystery of the deaths of two lovers found entwined in a grave, one is the skeleton of a vampire which shouldn't exist in the first place. Peter's touch gives him the ability to see the last moments of someone before they die. His touch also has a powerful affect on a woman. His reputation proceeds him and Ophelia is instantly drawn to this demon and he is to her but soon he decides he wants more than a one night stand. What results is a powerful emotional tug of war that leaves you wondering if these two will ever hook up or remain stubborn and heartbroken.

All of the books in the Immortals series can be read as stand alone books or in order. I've read them all and each are great, this one so far is my favorite. I love the strong characters of both Ophelia and Peter as well as the mystery that encompasses them. Its a great story and one that shouldn't be missed.

Beyond Addiction

Beyond Addiction (Beyond, #5)Beyond Addiction by Kit Rocha

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is one of my favorite books in this series and I've loved them all.

I love the dystopian world that Kit Rocha has created and in each book we see and learn more about it.

This book centers on Trix and Finn. Trix had lived in Sector Five and was hopelessly addicted. Finn believed her to be dead until one night she was kidnapped and brought back to Sector Five from Sector Four. Now that she's back and alive he will do whatever it takes to keep her whole and happy.

I loved these characters. You could feel what its like to lose the one you love and then suddenly find them again. But so much time had passed neither was as the other had left them. The turmoil and tension added to twists and turns of this romance. And the hot steamy scenes just added icing to the cake. My favorite of the series and I cried at the end.

Awesome series! Best if read in order, but each can stand alone.

Fall Into Love

Fall Into Love (Naughty Nookie, #1)Fall Into Love by Serena Akeroyd

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

I received a free copy of this ebook in exchange for an honest review.

This erotic short is the first in a series, that might should be an entire book instead of 60 pages here and there. However, I haven't finished them all so I will say no more about that. It is short, a taste of things to come maybe.

Fall Into Love starts out slow. Simone is cynical about love as she is trying to get past a divorce. She meets Zane and after a HOT one night stand thing take a twist that definitely is not forseen leaving us with quite a cliffhanger. Simone is one who is living in the past and we hear way too much about her ex for my liking. I want to go forward, live in the here and now. The language is also not what you would expect from southerners transplanted to NYC. We ain't so proper down here.

Overall, its not a bad read and hopefully a good start to this series. The next installments will stand on their own merits and we shall see what cums.... comes.

Baby's Got Back

Baby Got Back: Anal EroticaBaby Got Back: Anal Erotica by Rachel Kramer Bussel

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I received a free ecopy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Wow, what a collection! This book certainly covered the entire spectrum of erotica and all of them were worth reading. Whatever your erotic reading desires this one is sure to please. Everything from m/f couples wanting to add some spice to the bedroom to m/m couples looking to change things up, this book has everything in between.

My favorite story was about the woman in the bookstore that was searching for a way to enjoy sex after being diagnosed with endometriosis. HOT! to say the very least.

Every story contained in this anthology is well written and no two are alike. I would recommend this to anyone who enjoys reading erotica.

Divine Fornication

Divine Fornication-The Complete Collection (An Erotic Story of Angels, Vampires and Werewolves)Divine Fornication-The Complete Collection by Aimélie Aames

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Wow! What a ride! (Only for those over 18)

Divine Fornication is an erotic adventure like no other. Its definitely not for the feint of hear as much of it is very dark and deliciously twisted.

Claire is left blind in a car accident that kills her parents. She learns to make her way alone and in the darkness til a second accident claims her life. In her fall down an elevator shaft she is taken by an angel and given her sight back as well as her life saved along with a special gift. Afterward she is fought over by creatures of the dark for her beauty and special gift.

If you are looking for a book that has characters with depth and a storyline with great meaning, this isn't it. But its a deliciously dark erotic read that has plenty of hot scenes albeit some a bit twisted, even a hit of bestiality as werewolves take hold of Claire.

I enjoyed this read but I am one that enjoys a read a bit on the strange side and this one is that. Not for everyone as this is no common romance but rather a walk on the dark side.

The Chase

The Chase (The Marechal Chronicles #4)The Chase by Aimélie Aames

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

OMG What a cliffhanger! Love this series!

Melisse and the Marachel have parted ways as the story continues after the last installment in the Marechal Chronicles. Melisse continues on her way across the mountains and the Marechal is drowning his sorrows in cheap wine after she leaves him with a broken heart.

Melisse crosses paths with an elderly gypsy woman that reveals the path that she must take and answers to questions about the past she runs from. At the heart of all the mysteries contained in the chronicles is the mysterious Alchemist's Tower that is surrounded by a ring of doom. All the while is the trouble brewing in the home of the Estrils, beings of flame and light. All these threads have been delicately woven together in an erotic world with deliciously sexy characters.

I love the world that has been built complete with magic and other wordly beings as well as witches and beings of darkness. An awesome series, complete with a cliffhanger that makes you say Nooooooooo!!!!!!!!!! I need answers! I can hardly wait to continue.

The Goblin Between Her Thighs

The Goblin Between Her ThighsThe Goblin Between Her Thighs by Aimélie Aames

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This book is definitely not for everyone, but I loved it. The title itself makes you step back and ask yourself if you really want to read this or not.

This short story is a prequel to the Marechel Chronicles. I wish I had read this one first as its a great introduction to the series. This is a world full of magic and mystery and a lot of hot sex scenes. However, I will warn you that one scene in particular some may find disturbing.

For a short story this read contained a lot of elements. It draws you in quickly and holds your attention til the end. I hated to see the story end and am glad it continues in the chronicles. This is a world that I want to see more of.

Overall, a great read although not for everyone. For those over 18 that like something a bit different.

The Marechal Chornicles

The Marechal Chronicles: Volumes I, II, and III (An Erotic Fantasy Tale)The Marechal Chronicles: Volumes I, II, and III by Aimélie Aames

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE!!! This read has everything I love in a good book: hot sex, magic, fantasy, witches and erotic fire gods, as well as mystery, intrigue, and great characters. Not to mention the hot cover is great eye candy.

The very first scene grabs your attention from the very beginning as we are introduced to two fire being in a scene that's very hot in more ways than one. As the story progresses we are introduced to Melisse, the chambermaid with dreams of having more out of life, and the Marechal, the sexy, scarred lawman that is in search of a killer that removes skins.

As the story progresses we are pulled deeper into this world full of sex and magic that just makes we want to know more. This world has a bit of everything including some very sexy scenes that literally set their world on fire. My only complaint was that the end came far sooner than I wanted it to and I can't wait to continue this series.

This is not for the feint of heart and only for those over 18, but if you love erotica and paranormal romance then you should definitely pick up this series.

Beyond Pain

Beyond Pain (Beyond, #3)Beyond Pain by Kit Rocha

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is the 3rd book in the Beyond Series and I love the world that has been built in these books. We see a bit more of it in this book as it continues where the 2nd left off. Sector Three comes into play as Bren is asked to start getting things under control over there as the O'Kanes took over at the end of the last book.

This book focuses mainly on the relationship of Bren and Six. Six was taken in by the O'Kanes in the 2nd book and it was quickly discovered she had been terribly abused. Bren was the one she latched on to and she only felt safe when he was with her. Soon he gets her complete trust but she is still fragile and it won't take much to break her heart. Both Bren and Six have a lot of baggage coming into this relationship and both are really possessive. Its difficult to be monogamous in a setting where everyone is so free with their sexuality but they manage to do just that.

Overall I liked the book and love the world that is created here. As were are introduced to new characters I wondered if we would come to know more of them in books to come. An awesome series for those over 18 that enjoy dystopias as well. Can't wait til the next book in this series!

Beyond Control (Beyond #2)

Beyond Control (Beyond, #2)Beyond Control by Kit Rocha

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Wow! A powerfully hot read to say the least. Love this series.

This is the second part in Kit Rocha's Beyond series and the focus is on the relationship between the leader of the O'Kane Gang, Dallas and his queen Lex. Their relationship is so much of a power struggle and it adds to the intensity of the story and their relationship. Lex is a very independent woman and Dallas loves power and control but he loves Lex more than life.

There is so much going on in this story apart from the really hot sex that happens everywhere with everybody. The world building has increased from the introduction in part one. We learn more about the political life of the sectors as well as their relationship with Eden, the city proper. We are introduced to the leaders of the other sectors as well as life among the masses.

Loved this one, although not as good as the first. The constant arguing between Dallas and Lex, although important to the story, got to be a put off for me. Can't wait to read the next and continue this series. Definitely only for those not faint of heart over 18.

Beyond Shame

Beyond Shame (Beyond, #1)Beyond Shame by Kit Rocha

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Awesome! Awesome! Awesome! There is so much going on in this story I hardly know where to start.

Set in the not so distant future, after solar storms have ravaged the earth. Society is split into different sections. In the city of Eden, all is pure and nothing that diverts from that is allowed. Noelle is the daughter of an affluent city official when she is found breaking the rules by drinking a little and fornicating with a boy she likes. She is then thrust out of the city and into Sector 4 that is ruled by the O'Kane gang. Noelle is then taken into the gang by Lex and Jasper and taught really how to live.

I love the characters in this book. Lex is a strong woman, so sure of herself. Jasper is Dallas O'Kane's right hand man and is also a really strong character. Noelle is young and inexperienced in life but as the story goes along she learns who she is and what she wants and under the tutelage of the gang she becomes a strong woman. She goes from thinking that all sex is dirty to understanding that what occurs between two or more consenting adults is not dirty. There is no shame in what happens between adults. Consent is the optimum word here. It should not be controlled by others in power who are not involved.

I loved this book. I loved the characters, I loved the pace of it, and the sex scenes were HOTTTT!!!!! and only added to the story. The story was not built around the scenes but quite the opposite. Definitely not for those under 18. Unlike 50 Shades of Gray, this book is well written and not about subjugating women. Instead the sexual situations were as much or more about the pleasure and power of women. They were loved and protected by the men in their lives and very much satisfied. Can't wait to read the next one.

Bastian

Bastian (The Lords of Satyr #6)Bastian by Elizabeth Amber

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is by far my favorite in the Lords of Satyr series. Silvia and Machaela are ephemerals that were once part of the vestals that served the goddess Vesta. Pledge to service when they were young girls, they became more than best friends. When the temple was overran they were changed from mortals to the eternal ephemerals with the ability to take hosts from those that are dying. Machaela gives up her immortality for the man she loves, believing that she can make him love her in time.

Silvia is a strong female character, even though she isn't always female. She has a vested interest in the work of Lord Bastian Satyr and is determined not to let her feeling get in the way of her quest. I loved Silvia's character and how Bastian relates to her. He is a great character, and that he has a flaw makes him that much more alive and relatable to. The chemistry between them and the story that unfolds around them is wonderful. The erotic nature of the story doesn't overwhelm and overtake the storyline instead it very much enhances it.

Pontifex is the bad guy in this story. And while his is wonderfully evil, he stays put in his evil lair and his downfall fell a bit short of the rest of the story. The ending as well was tied up rather quickly and it wasn't really explained how things actually happened. But otherwise this was a great story.

Overall, this was my favorite of the series so far. I would recommend it for anyone over 18 that loves a good erotica, although the fantasy side of this series may not be for everyone. These are all stand alone stories, but once you start you'll be hooked. Loved, loved, loved!!!

Jaded

JadedJaded by Chelle

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I received a free copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

This was a short sweet romance that I would have given 3 -- 3.5 stars too. Its blurb suggests a hot erotica from the beginning but that's not quite the case. Lynn is a jaded woman, trying to recover from a bad marriage. She's unhappy with her body and doesn't think any good man would be interested and is only looking for drunken one night stands. She's not a character that I particularly liked. One night she meets a sexy cowboy and things for her change. Trevor is definitely not like all the others.

The blurb suggests this is a hot erotica from the very beginning, but that's not quite the case. This is a short read and the last half is where the steamy parts are. They are steamy but they are all the same. Once you read the first scenario the others are carbon copies.

What made this book a 4 star read was the ending. I won't give away any spoilers but it made me shed a tear or two. Overall it wasn't a bad read. If you like a short romance this might be just the thing for you.

Medusa's Desire

Medusa's Desire (Fate of Eros #1)Medusa's Desire by E.B. Black

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

This was an unusual take on the myth of Medusa and Perseus. We get a plausible background story of how Medusa came to be the monster she was. How her life as a human girl was filled with trials and how she was blamed for actions beyond her control and transformed by Athena. She later meets Perseus as he was sent to kill her and that's where the story takes a turn for the strange (as if it wasn't strange enough) Perseus and Medusa fall in love an go on a series of adventures.

Medusa was definitely the strongest character. She kept her humanity despite all that happened to her. Perseus and Andromeda on the other hand were weak. He couldn't have accomplished anything without Medusa and Andromeda was definitely a spoiled princess. However, it was the relationship between Perseus and Medusa that seemed so implausible. How could he not know what she really looked like? How could she be a vegetarian? That didn't seem natural at all.

The story itself was a roller coaster of emotions. Parts were dark and sad and others were passionate and loving. The ending itself was dark and menacing too but fitting in many ways. I don't think it could have ended differently. Overall, it was a fairly good read, and definitely for readers over 18. If you like a bit of dark erotica you might want to pick this one up.

Lord's of Satyr: Dane

Dane (The Lords of Satyr, #5)Dane by Elizabeth Amber

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Love this series and it seems like every book is even better than the last.

This group of Satyr Lords is set apart from the ones before it. Set in Rome, Dane is a tormented soul and a younger brother of the Satyrs here. Abducted when he was young along with his younger brother, he escaped but left with psychological scars from his ordeal. His brother, however, was never found. Still searching for Lucien, Dane decides he needs a wife in order to stay in this realm. Eva, a marriage broker (and secret female Satyr) is enlisted to help him find a wife. But what they get is more than either of them bargained for.

There is so much that I loved about this book. Dane was more vulnerable, and more human than many of the other-worldly Satyr's are portrayed. His split personalities were very much a part of his character. They worked to protect him from times when he was vulnerable in order to keep horrible memories from incapacitating him. Eva is a strong character in her own right. She was a great match for Dane. Her up bringing was oppressive and she had a lot to over come. The villain in this book remained a mystery til near the end. Just when you thought you had it figured out it all goes a different direction.

Love this book, and all of this series. The erotica is tastefully woven into the story to enhance instead of detract. Always looking forward to reading the next one.

Fifty Shades of Alice Through the Looking Glass

Fifty Shades of Alice Through the Looking GlassFifty Shades of Alice Through the Looking Glass by Melinda DuChamp

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I would actually give this one 3.5 stars but since I can't give half stars I stretched it up since it was overall a fun read. I didn't like this one nearly as well as Fifty Shades of Alice in Wonderland and I shall tell you why.

Make no mistake, this was a fun read. Full of all kinds of satire, don't take this too seriously or you will hate it. Compared to the first book in the Alice series, this one has a broader range of kink. Its an erotica so its definitely rated XXX, no kids allowed. But it goes beyond that. I can say that even I learned a few things lol. My issue with this read is not that it includes fetishes and bondage, but some of the characters were just a bit too creepy for my pleasure. Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum and the scene with Humpty Dumpty was a bit more than I could take.

Alice is searching for an open mind, and this is a theme that the author definitely beats you over the head with. And if you don't go into Wonderland with an open mind then maybe you should tread elsewhere because this one isn't for the feint of heart. Overall, I enjoyed it (mostly) and am curious to see what is in store for Alice and Lewis.

** Heart You is an erotic romance short story for ADULTS ONLY! This novelette is roughly 7200 words and contains a hot sexual triad between two female roommates and their Valentine’s Day boy toy. **

Have you ever wanted something you know you shouldn’t? That forbidden fruit. A temptation that will surely lead you down the path of illicit indulgence, and ultimately, pleasure beyond your wildest imaginations.

That was the daily torture Samantha put herself through when she thought of her roommate, Kara. Sitting alone on Valentine’s Day, Sam found comfort in sharing her innermost secrets with her trusty journal while lusting over the brown-eyed goddess. At least until Kara comes home with a sizzling hot man and a night full of naughty games that would even make cupid blush.

My Review:  5 of 5 stars

I found this book to be a very steamy read that most of the adults I know would enjoy. Samantha has been living with Kara and hiding her sexual desire for her. On Valentine's Day; however, she finally gets to explore her desires when Kara comes home with Daniel and a box of adult conversation hearts ready for a game. The game that they play consists of matching the hearts and performing the action on the hearts. The game gets going and eventually on Daniel's suggestion moved to the bedroom. Samantha had never been with another woman before and is finally getting to explore her feelings for roommate and best friend Kara. Will she be satisfied by this encounter or will it fall short of her expectations? You'll just have to read it and find out. This book starts hot, quickly pulls you in and makes you feel like a part of the action before it picks up from there and absolutely leaves you breathless and longing for more. It made me a quick fan of author
Rene Folsom, and I can't wait to see what she comes up with next.

Lords of Satyr: Dominic

Dominic (The Lords of Satyr, #4)Dominic by Elizabeth Amber

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is the continuation of the Lords of Satyr novels. If you have read any of the first three of this series, this is more of the same. If you have not, be warned that these are not for everyone.

This book is split between two novellas: Dominic and then Vincent. There is a tie between the two being the coin of Bacchus that is lost in the first and found in the second.

In Dominic, he is a full Satyr that comes to Earth world to pass on his gift of the demonhand to Jane's sister. Her husband is injured and Dominic must help with the birth of their daughter. The demonhand is a soldier that is often scorned for what he is but is necessary in the war against demonkind. He has no choice in what he is but instead of being given respect for his part in keeping them safe he is scorned. Many of our own soldiers go through this when coming back from wars that are unpopular. Dominic is a sad character in many ways because of this and its nice to see when he finds true love.

Vincent continues the story due to the finding of the coin that was lost in the first novella. He conjures a shimmerskin too many times and causes her to come to life. Many reviewers have indicated that Dominic is the better of the two, but I enjoyed both stories very much. Vincent, Cara, and Landon have an unconventional relationship that was very much filled with love.

Overall, I loved both of these books, and for anyone that enjoyed the first in this series I suggest you continue on with this one. If you haven't read any of this series, be aware that its definitely for those over 18.

Fifty Shades of Alice in Wonderland

Fifty Shades of Alice in WonderlandFifty Shades of Alice in Wonderland by Melinda DuChamp

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

OMG! LOVE LOVE LOVE!

This read is by no means for everyone, but if you enjoy something a little on the twisted side than you gotta read this one.

This is an erotic parody of Alice in Wonderland. Alice follows a white rabbit vibrator down a rabbit hole and enters a Wonderland not from our childhood. Alice has encounters with various characters as she learns how her body can be pleasured and give pleasure to others. You can't take this too seriously. It is a parody and its all in good fun and Alice certainly has her share of fun.

If you are easily shocked, don't pick this one up. If you like things a bit on the twisted side then this is a must read. As for me, I loved it.
