The Lost Centurion by Monica La Porta
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
This is the first book in the Immortals series. Marcus was a Roman Centurion that was made immortal after a vampire killed his wife. Marcus vowed to avenge her death however long it took. Two thousand years later (talk about patience) he finally gets a lead. As he goes to meet an informant he runs into trouble and rescues Diana, a vampling with no clue what has happened.
Monica La Porta's work is always a joy to read and this one is no exception. The flow of this work sweeps you away and pulls you right into the story. Her characters really come to life complete with believable flaws. The romance between Marcus and Diana isn't instant, both have issues not only with each other but with themselves.
As will all her books, I loved this one and can't wait to read more about the immortals. There are a couple of steamy parts but nothing over the top. Its a great paranormal romance.
