Featuring Books with
Tragic Disasters & Epic Love Stories

Up for grabs in this weeks hop is a copy of The Gaze by Robayo.  I confess that I haven't read this particular title but it has gotten some really good reviews and sounds promising.  This is an international giveaway as long as the Book Depository ships to your location. As always, its not a requirement that you follow the Cotton Patch but its always appreciated.

Blurb
As a sophomore in college Samantha Reddick meets Tony Amaya, a brokenhearted young man, whose written words she keeps as a memento of a weekend long affair. The words, written on the back of a paper placemat, become her only solid ground during a tumultuous decade that nearly destroys her, leaving her searching for answers at the bottom of the bottle. Haunted by guilt and the constant menace from a man she once loved, Samantha searches for Tony and inserts herself into his life through an online friend request to his wife, Gwen. Mutual curiosity opens the door to an unexpected friendship that becomes the catalyst of an inner battle between the better woman Samantha longs to be, and the Samantha who despises her own gaze.

  8. I like my endings to be a mix of both. So, I guess I don't like (real) tragic endings, but if the ending is *too* happy ti just feels forced and annoying.

  10. I prefer happy endings but I don’t mind reading a book that has a tragedy here and there. Sometimes it gets boring reading a book knowing that it’s all going to work out. Thank you so much for a chance to win and for being a part of this fun and awesome blog hop!!

  13. It doesn't matter if the ending is happy or tragic as long as the story is good. I prefer to be surprised. :)

  14. I prefer Happy endings!
I love the movie Titanic. It's epic and tragic and it's one of my favorites. I actually went and saw that movie in the theater four times one weekend. I was THAT obsessed. As far as epic love stories go, I love 'Outlander' by Diana Gabaldon. The heroine travels through time and meets the man of her dreams. How epic is that! And, he's a higher ranking Jacobite Highlander. Hot.
As far as tragic love stories, I loved the book "Atonement" by Ian McEwan. It's totally tragic that the lovers are separated first by an unfound accusation, a war and finally death. It's so sad but so beautiful how much they did love one another.
    Thanks for the giveaway!

  18. It really depends. I actually like both. I want the book to end the way it should, and sometimes tragedies make more sense than happy endings.
